  • TROY STORY

Troy Deeney has stated Arsenal are still a ‘soft touch’ under Arsenal in his exclusive SunSport column.

He wrote: “They remain something of a soft touch — but a different sort of soft touch.

“Not a team you can physically intimidate but a team who will always give you a chance. Burnley will believe they can win at the Emirates tomorrow.

“They will look to exploit Arsenal’s weaknesses from set-pieces and they will look to hit them on the break, too.

“If Arsenal play to their full potential, they should win.

“If they lose, then Arsenal could slip towards a genuine relegation battle and Arteta will be in serious trouble.”

  • ART ACHE

Paul Merson has stated Arsenal are in a crisis as they sit in 15th spot in the Premier League.

He told StarSport: “I just don’t know where Arsenal are going right now.

“The manager was talking after the Spurs game as if they’d played well. I hope he doesn’t actually believe that!

“You would still expect them to beat Burnley. It’s a nice game for them. Burnley don’t have the pace on the counter to hurt Arsenal, and they don’t score many goals.

“Arsenal should beat them. But it will only be papering over the cracks if they do.”

  • LAWR AND ORDER

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes Arsenal will beat Burnley 2-0.

The BBC Sport football expert said: “Since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed his new contract, his form has been indifferent.

“Although you could say that he has been stuck out on the left wing rather than playing as a centre-forward so what are people expecting from him?

I would still back Arsenal to beat Burnley, but what Arteta really needs is a good performance from his team too. Some of them are coasting at the moment and they are not earning their corn.

That is not something you could ever accuse any Burnley players of. They are in the bottom three at the moment but I am expecting them to gradually climb away from trouble, partly because of their willingness to scrap.”

  • EDDIE THE EAGLE

Arsenal have won every game in which Eddie Nketiah this season.

The England youth international has found the back of the net five times this term.

  • WEN WILL IT END

Arsene Wenger has revealed that balance is key to accommodating Mesut Ozil in a starting XI.

The 71-year-old said: “You have two ways to see a football team.

“You get everybody to do the same – the same intensity of work, the same defensive work – or you find a compromise.

“You have a more creative player in the team who can do less defensive work but you build a team around him who can compensate for these deficiencies.

“That is what you have to think about.”

  • SORT MES OUT

Arsene Wenger has told Mikel Arteta how he handled ‘artist’ Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.

The German outcast has not played a single minute for the Gunners this season and their iconic former manager revealed how he got the best out of him.

Wenger told ESPN’s Caught Offside podcast: “He was not difficult to manage.

“He was a guy who had a special quality as a creative player and needed to have fun.

“He is an artist and these guys are a bit more sensitive.

“They need support and an environment that pushes them to give their best.”

  • TAKING THE MIC

Michael Owen believes Arsenal will just beat Burnley at the Emirates tomorrow.

The BetVictor Brand Ambassador said: “Arsenal have been disappointing this season, so far.

“Mikel Arteta has his work cut out; however, he’ll see this as the ideal opportunity to get back on track.

“I go through a lot of stats in this line of work, and unfortunately for Burnley, they come last in most of them.

“I expect the Gunners to get back on track here, albeit by a slender margin.”

  • PAUL THE OTHER ONE

Arsenal icon has urged Mikel Arteta to apologise to Mesut Ozil and recall the player back to the team in January.

He told Starsport: “Arsenal could still be playing Tottenham NOW and they wouldn’t have scored a goal.

“What can they do in January to fix it? Go and knock on Mesut Ozil’s door, say you’re sorry and you need him to play! Arsenal were atrocious against Spurs.

“They never looked like scoring. Ozil’s getting £350,000-a-week and sitting at home while his team can’t score.

I’m not saying play him against Manchester City or Liverpool, when you’re not going to see much of the ball.

“But against teams like Spurs or Burnley, he can get on the ball and dictate things and make a few decent chances. They could re-register him in January. They’re missing a trick if they don’t.”

  • MORE TAYLOR

Taylor said: “We have been very concerned, and remain so, about the physical load on players are now frequently required to play every two or three days or so.

“The physical load on players is hugely increased and the consequent fatigue is leading to avoidable and distressing injuries .

“Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Leeds were all impacted last weekend.

“A further 11 Premier League. clubs have players unavailable due to problems that might reasonably be attributed to physical load and fatigue.”

Prem clubs held votes in August and September after proposals to extend the extra sub rules.

Both were rejected by 11 to nine, well short of the 14-club majority required.

  • TIRED AND EMOTIONAL

PFA boss Gordon Taylor DEMANDS Prem chiefs overrule clubs and bring in five subs NOW.

Taylor is infuriated that his concerns over the health and safety of Prem stars has been ignored.

And he has now told League chief Richard Masters he MUST force the clubs to back down.

In a letter that was forwarded by Masters to all Prem clubs, Taylor blames the refusal to stick with five subs this season for the spate of injuries to players.

  • ROUD AWAKENING

Louis Saha believes Arsenal should consider resigning Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

He told Genting Bet: “Olivier Giroud could be a good option for Arsenal if…
