ARSENAL fans who grew up in the 90s will fondly remember Gilles Grimandi.
The French star joined the club in 1997 and 22 years later, the former midfielder is finally ready to leave.
Grimandi, who did hold the role of Gunners chief scout in France, has agreed to depart the club to link up with former team-mate Patrick Vieira as technical director at Nice.
Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil has reopened some of his old Germany wounds.
The midfielder was embroiled in a race row, criticising the team and the German football federation after their humiliating group stage exit from the World Cup.
And now he has decided to praise only Jerome Boateng in an Instagram post, after the defender and his Bayern Munich team-mates Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller were told they are no longer in Joachim Low's plans.
On Instagram, Ozil wrote to Boateng: “Chin up Bro. Since our very beginnings in the youth National teams we celebrated so many special moments together. You’re truly a friend and a great person on and off the pitch.
“I feel sorry one of the best German players of the last decade has to leave the National team in that way.”
And finally, Lucas Torreira will miss Arsenal's huge game against Man United after his red card against Spurs was upheld.
