NORTH LONDON rivals Arsenal and Tottenham both missed out on new Chelsea star Christian Pulisic, it has been claimed.
The American wonderkid, 20, agreed a £58million Stamford Bridge switch before returning to Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season.
And both Gunners and Spurs fans could be left ruing a missed opportunity after seeing the talented winger slip through their grasp.
According to The Independent, Pulisic joined Arsenal on trial as a 14-year-old and impressed Arsene Wenger.
Unfortunately, he did not have an EU passport at the time – meaning he will go down as another name on a long list of targets the Frenchman missed out on.
Spurs, meanwhile, held talks with Dortmund but were unable to secure a deal, as reported by the Evening Standard.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp – who won the Bundesliga with Dortmund – is also a big fan of Pulisic.
He said: "He's a good player. I've known him for a while, followed him.
"Good signing for Chelsea but good deal as well, Dortmund can keep him. Another really skilled boy playing in England. Good."
Pulisic played for Brackley Town as a youth before continuing his development in the States.
Dortmund signed him to their academy in 2015 before handing him his senior debut a year later, with his first international cap coming within months.
Now, Chelsea have secured one of the brightest talents in Europe, who could also bring in a huge number of fans from across the Atlantic.
