ARSENAL have been dealt yet another transfer blow after Medhi Benatia joined Qatari side Al Duhail today.

The Gunners had tried to lure the Juventus midfielder, 31, to the Emirates this month.

However, Benatia has joined the Middle Eastern side in a £7million deal – payable across two instalments.

Arsenal originally hoped to swap Benatia for Juve-bound Aaron Ramsey but failed in their pursuit.

Ramsey will now join the Serie A champions for free in the summer, when his contract expires.

Centre-back Benatia spent two years at Juventus having joined from Bayern Munich in 2017.
