Emery reportedly has a transfer budget of just £45million this summer
Unai Emery reportedly wants Arsenal to splash out on Wilfried Zaha this summer.
Emery has been given a limited transfer budget of £45million after they did not qualify for the Champions League.
The Sun report the Gunners boss will push for more funds to land the Crystal Palace winger.
Zaha has previously said he supported Arsenal as a child, but Palace are reluctant to let him leave.
The 26-year-old has consistently been their best player over the last five seasons since he rejoined from Manchester United.
The Eagles have put an £80million price tag on the winger but their resolve is set to be tested by Arsenal.
Emery may be forced to sell some of his fringe players so he can raise the cash to sign his top target.
An added bonus would be that Zaha would count as a homegrown player.
The Gunners are keen on adding homegrown talent as they are set to lose Aaron Ramsey to Juventus at the end of this month and Danny Welbeck has also been released.
It would leave them with just six players who are classed as homegrown.
In a squad of 25, eight of them must have spent a significant amount of time in an English or Welsh academy.
Arsenal are also understood to be confident of securing a deal for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, according to the BBC.
The Gunners had an opening bid of £15million knocked back by the Scottish champions last week, with the Hoops valuing closer to £25m.
But with Unai Emery determined to land the full-back and Arsenal will go back in with a new offer and are optimistic that an agreement will be reached.
Tierney, 22, will be offered a huge pay rise at the Emirates, which will treble his salary to around £70,000-per-week.
