That is the verdict of Crystal Palace hero Nigel Martyn, who says his old club need not worry about losing their talisman to a mid-table Premier League rival.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is looking to strengthen several areas of his squad this summer and the club are keen on seeing Zaha move to north London.
Martyn, who made English football history when he became the first goalkeeper to be sold for £1million when he signed for Palace in 1989, believes if Zaha leaves it will be to go to a top team.
“Zaha, if he goes, it’ll be to a big club,” Martyn said to VoucherCodes.co.uk.
“He tried that when he was younger, but he’s more mature now so possibly he is ready for that move now.”
Palace have placed a £80million valuation on the winger they signed back from Manchester United in 2015.
The Gunners saw their opening bid of £40m rejected by the Eagles, who are concerned about selling both Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the same summer after Manchester United signed right-back Wan-Bissaka for £50m last week.
It is a sentiment echoed by Martyn, who would like to see 26-year-old forward Zaha stay at Selhurst Park.
“I hope [Zaha] will stay,” the former Leeds and England goalkeeper said.
“Palace tend to have a bit of a battle every year to make sure they stay in the division.
“They have the experience now of that division, so you’ve got to hold on to your better players, but the problem is when they have good seasons, other clubs come sniffing around.”
Reports suggest Emery has a transfer budget of just £45million this summer, but Sky Sports claim Emery could have as much as £70m available to him to spend on Zaha.
Arsenal feel the winger could give them the necessary edge to compete for a top four place in the Premier League and put a halt to missing out on Champions League football for a fourth straight season.
But as talks continue between the two clubs, Arsenal are also looking at alternatives if a deal cannot ultimately be agreed.
Lyon are looking to offload attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir and have apparently told Arsenal he is available for £30m, which is nearly half what Liverpool almost paid for him last summer.
The Gunners had already held talks with Yacine Brahimi, who is a free agent after his contract expired with Porto.
However, as no transfer fee will be paid for the 29-year-old winger, the player is said to be currently demanding a £3.5m signing-on fee.
Emery has also been a long-time admirer of Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and Belgium winger Yannick Carrasco.
Nigel Martyn was speaking to VoucherCodes.co.uk as part of their Greatest Savers campaign.
