When does the window open in Europe? | QUIZ: Which club should you join?
Prem trio battle for Bruun Larsen
Three of the Premier League’s top clubs are set to jostle for the signature of Borussia Dortmund forward Jacob Bruun Larsen, according to the Sun.
The 20-year-old made a breakthrough in the Bundesliga last season, and has specifically brought about interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Liverpool could hold the advantage in the saga as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was in charge at Dortmund when Larsen signed for the club from Lyngby in 2015.
The Danish international is reportedly valued at around £15 million, however it’s expected that Dortmund would demand a higher fee to consider selling him.
Chelsea prematurely announce Kovacic signing
Chelsea appear to have accidentally announced the permanent signing of loanee Mateo Kovacic, the Daily Star reports.
Due to their transfer ban, the Blues are banned from signing new players until after the January 2020 window, but as Kovacic was on loan from Real Madrid with Chelsea last season, they wouldn’t be breaking any rules to sign him permanently. That ought to be confirmed in the near future, if the leaked announcement is anything to go by.
On the club’s official app, The Fifth Stand, a Q&A article kicks off with the following: “After securing a permanent switch to Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell at Chelsea from Real Madrid, we caught up with Mateo Kovacic to find out what some of his first footballing memories are.”
Rashford’s going nowhere
Marcus Rashford is expected to commit his future to Manchester United by agreeing a new £250,000 per week deal, according to the Telegraph.
The long-term contract would last until 2023, with the option to include a fifth year. The news will put United fans at ease, amid speculation that the 21-year-old had been on the radars of some of Europe’s top clubs, including Barcelona.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side fly to Australia on July 8 for the start of their pre-season tour, so the club are expected to announce the contract extension before then.
Neymar can leave PSG on one condition
Paris Saint-Germain are willing to allow Neymar to return to Barcelona, but not without substantial incentive to do so, the Sun reports.
Not only would the Ligue 1 side charge £116m to send the Brazilian back, they would also be demanding two players in return at no extra cost.
Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti could all reportedly be on their way out of the Nou Camp, so PSG may choose from those four, dependant on their wage demands.
Tap-ins
– Manchester City target Joao Cancelo is intent on staying at Juventus, despite admitting previously that he was ready to leave the Serie A giants, according to CalcioMercato. Pep Guardiola’s side had offered Danilo in exchange for the right-back, but reports suggest that Juventus no longer think they would be better off without him.
– Antoine Griezmann could become one of Manchester United’s summer signings, according to the Sun. The Telegraph reported prior that United vice-chairman Ed Woodward had told club staff to expect “exciting” summer signings, and the Sun suggest that The Red Devils have not given up hope on signing Griezmann for £108m.
