Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport suggests that Bologna are set to offer the prolific forward an 18-month contract worth £8m a-year. Marca suggests that Real Madrid will do their best to offload Diaz and outcast Mariano in January. Diaz, who joined last season from City, has played only nine minutes this campaign, while Mariano, who scored 21 goals in 2017-18 with Lyon, has not made an appearance since May.
Both players are well behind newcomers Eden Hazard and Rodrygo on the Madrid depth chart.

One player who is not happy at the moment is young Carles Alena, 21. The youngster, once dubbed the “new Iniesta,” has only made one appearance (45 mins) in La Liga this season and reportedly wants to leave the club in January. Mundo Deportivo reports that both parties believe a loan move for Alena is best in January and that Barcelona are willing to let him go out on loan in order to get regular first-team football.
Tottenham are reportedly an admirer of the youngster, who has spent the last 14 years at the Catalan club. We will be keeping an eye on the talented Alena when the transfer window reopens in January.
16.27 GMT: After selling defensive ace Harry Maguire this summer to Manchester United, Leicester failed in their summer attempts to bring in a replacement centre-back.
While Caglar Soyuncu has thrived this season for the Foxes in central defence, Leicester are still looking to bring in another central defender and LeicestershireLive have compiled three candidates. The Foxes failed in attempts for Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake in the summer but could one of these three fill the void of Maguire?
Those three are Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car, Benfica starlet Ruben Dias and Real Sociedad’s Diego Llorente. Leicester, who currently sit third, are already a very strong outfit and with a boosted transfer kitty thanks to the sale of Maguire, a new centre-back could further bolster their ranks.
15.38 GMT: Over the past two seasons Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has developed into one of the best — if not the best — left-backs in the world.
With Robertson’s rise it is no surprise he is drawing interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid. Some rumours from Spain need to be taking with a grain — or two — of salt but fan site Defensa Central is claiming that Los Blancos are lining up the Scottish left-back, 25, to fill the spot of ageing Marcelo.
One would think Robertson will be staying at Anfield for the long run, especially when you consider Madrid just this past summer spent £43 million on a left-back in Ferland Mendy.
