Brighton manager Potter was asked to provide reporters with an update on the future of his star man after the 2-0 defeat to Mikel Arteta’s side, to which he responded:
“He’s got a contract with us. As far as I know he’s going to report to pre-season like everyone else, but it’s football.
“Like anything, in the summer, we have to make some good decisions and improve the football club.”
Potter has continued to be quizzed on where he believes Bissouma will be playing next season in recent months and delivered a clear stance on the matter last month.
“Like any player, we have to be honest and also sensible enough to know that if a player is good enough to play at that level and has that opportunity then we shouldn’t be afraid of that, we shouldn’t be scared of that,” he said.
“Clearly there is a consequence for that in terms of transfer fees but that’s something out of our control and my control but it’s nothing for us to feel negative of, it should be a feeling of pride.”
