Arsenal Martin Odegaard transfer hopes hang by thread as Zinedine Zidane quits Real Madrid


Zidane had said that he wanted to include the playmaker in his plans for next season, but there was little to suggest that a transfer this summer was also not an option.

But with Raul and Massimiliano Allegri emerging as the front runners to become the new Real manager, everything looks much less clear over the possibility of Odegaard’s permanent switch to the Emirates.

On the final day of the season, Arteta admitted that he did not know whether he would be able to sign Odegaard, but insisted that he had every intention to do so.

“Well we have a very clear and strong opinion on what we would like to do,” said the Spaniard.
