Arsenal have two advantages in Bernardo Silva transfer with Pep Guardiola open to exit

A potential stumbling block could be the lack of European football at Arsenal.

The Gunners did not even qualify for the newly-formed Europa Conference League last season and Silva may want to hold out for a Champions League club to come knocking.

But Guardiola’s comments on Friday made it clear he, and others who want to leave, can go if the price is right.

Guardiola said: “Not just Bernardo, there are two or three, four players that want to leave [Man City] but they are our players under contract and when they bring some offer and they want to leave, and his agent comes here, we are open to discuss absolutely everything with all the players in the squad but it depends on them.

“Otherwise they will continue training really well and they will stay here and we’ll decide if they play or don’t play.

“For what’s happened in the previous seasons they want to leave, they know the door is open because we don’t want anyone here unsatisfied, but they have to bring some money. Otherwise they will stay here.”
