CHUBA AKPOM is reportedly set to end his Arsenal hell with Greek side PAOK closing in a permanent deal for the striker.
The 22-year-old has made just 12 appearances for the Gunners since making his debut in 2013, and has been shipped off on loan on six occasions.
But it has been claimed that the Super League giants are prepared to offer him a lifeline in Greece to kick start his career.
According to Goal's Arsenal correspondent Chris Wheatley, the England youth international is poised to depart the Emirates imminently.
He tweeted: "Greek side PAOK are close to signing Chuba Akpom from Arsenal."
It has been reported that Belgian side Sint-Truiden were in advanced talks over a possible £2million transfer.
Akpom impressed in his loan spell at Sint-Truiden last season – netting six goals in 16 Jupiler Pro League games after joining in January.
Previous loan spells include being offloaded to Brentford, Coventry, Nottingham Forest, Hull and Brighton.
He has just one year left on his current deal in North London, but is not expected to be in the plans of new boss Unai Emery.
Akpom was left out of Arsenal's pre-season tour of Singapore – a huge indication that he has been deemed as surplus to requirements.
