Arsenal supporters have been treated to a football feast over the past two decades when it comes to world class attacking talent.

Dutch masters Denis Bergkamp and Robin Van Persie could rival anyone but there’s one Gunners superstar who stands above the rest.

Thierry Henry is an Arsenal icon and when the club’s all-time top scorer speaks then his words resonate all the way into the Emirates boardroom.

The Montreal Impact boss is still highly regarded within the coaching community despite his disastrous spell in charge of Monaco.

And his views on the next generation of strikers makes decision makers stop in their tracks.

Ally McCoist enjoyed a chance encounter with the 42-year-old and he revealed Henry is smitten with one of Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard.

The Rangers legend said: “I spoke to Thierry Henry at the Liverpool vs Leicester City game and he really rates Edouard.

“He was saying in France in particular (Edouard is admired) and he personally really, really thinks he’s got a chance of going right to the top.”

And that transfer approval certainly carries weight as Mikel Arteta looks to rejuvenate his Gunners squad at the first available opportunity.

Doubts remain over the future of Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aumbameyang with the Gabon international’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2021.

Edouard certainly isn’t short of admires with Record Sport exclusively revealing last month that Leicester and former boss Brendan Rodgers are eyeing a £30m move for him this summer.
